DISTRICT 1: Loren Kraetz
Loren’s Great-Grandparents set up a homestead in the Stillaguamish Valley in the 1880’s, and his family has called the area home ever since. Loren spent many decades as a teacher in the valley and is now happily retired on his farm with his wife Pat. Along with his service on the Historic Preservation Commission, Loren also volunteers at the Stillaguamish Valley Pioneer Museum.
District 1 Alternate: Shirley Prouty
Shirley and her husband Dick raised their 5 children in the Stillguamish Valley and they are both very active in their community. Shirley has been an active participant at the Evergreen State Fair for decades and also been involved with local 4-H clubs. She is a member of the Stillaguamish Valley Pionner Museum and has authored three books on the history of the area.
District 2: Katelyn-Libbie Murray
Katelyn is from Everett
District 2 Alternate: Chris Jenkins
Chris is an Archaeologist from Everett
District 3 Alternate: Nathan Proudfoot
Nathan is from Edmonds.
District 5: Jennifer Hushour
Jennifer is an archaeologist with 18 years’ experience in cultural resources management. Her background includes osteology, historic period archival research, and project management. Jennifer joined the commission in 2016 to help advocate for historic preservation in her community and is particularly interested in working with local Tribes. She and her family have lived in Lake Stevens since 2013.
district 5 alternate: Fred Cruger
Fred Cruger is a retired Electrical Engineer and a veteran of the United States Air Force, where he spent twelve years. After leaving the Air Force Fred joined Hewlett-Packard in Colorado, but was soon moved west to establish a plant in Lake Stevens ultimately becoming Research and Development Manager and later Marketing Manager. Fred retired after 36 years to his current home of Granite Falls to focus on his true interests: horseless carriages and local history. Fred currently serves on the Snohomish County Historic Preservation Commission, the League of Snohomish County Heritage Organizations, the Granite Falls Planning Commission, and the Granite Falls Historical Society. He lives with his wife Penny and their Labaradoodle Duffy
